A Pesticide Biopurification System: A Source of Biosurfactant-Producing Bacteria with Environmental Biotechnology Applications

چکیده
Biosurfactants, a wide group of compounds produced by different microorganisms, generally have less toxicity and are more biodegradable than synthetic surfactants. Biosurfactant-producing bacteria can be found in contaminated environments, such as soils receiving pesticide applications constantly, or pesticides treatment systems where microorganisms adapted to biodegrading pesticides. Five pesticide-tolerant previously isolated from biopurification system were evaluated biosurfactant-producers. Pseudomonas rhodesiae C4, Rhodococcus jialingiae C8 marginalis C9 strains positive qualitative tests. Biosurfactant production these using Bushnell-Haas medium with olive oil at 2% (w/v) was emulsification index, displacement, droplet collapse test surface tension. After 144 h, showed similar index >55%. The two (C4 C9) lower superficial tension compared strain (C8)—34.47, 37.44 47.55 mN/m for C8, respectively. chemical characterization the biosurfactants revealed presence glycolipids P. (C4) glycopeptides (C9). degradation chlorpyrifos increased 39.2% 51.6% when P.rhodesiae added (10%) respect control. Therefore, relevant source biosurfactant-producing environmental biotechnology applications.

Individually and Synergistic Degradation of Hydrocarbons by Biosurfactant Producing Bacteria
Background: Increasing worldwide contamination with hydrocarbons has urged environmental remediation using biological agents such as bacteria. Our goal here was to study the phylogenetic relationship of two crude oil degrader bacteria and investigation of their ability to degrade hydrocarbons. Materials and Methods: Phylogenetic relationship of isolates was determined using morphological and...
متن کاملBiosurfactant Producing Bacteria on Oily Areas of Ruminant Skin
Biosurfactants are surface-active compounds produced by microorganisms. In this study, we collected 60 inguinal area and ear canal samples from cows, sheep, and goats (each, 10 animals) and screened for biosurfactant-producing bacteria. We also determined the genera of culturing strains. Fifty six hemolytic bacterial strains (27, 22 and 7, from cows, sheep and goats, respectively) were i...

BACKGROUND Biosurfactants are surface-active compounds produced by some microorganisms. OBJECTIVES In this study, we collected surface skin samples from breast of poultry (chicken, turkey, and, quail) and screened for biosurfactant-producing bacteria. We also determined the genera of cultured strains. MATERIALS AND METHODS 33 hemolytic bacterial strains (15, 11, and 7 isolates from chicken,...
متن کاملIsolation of Biosurfactant Producing Bacteria from Oil Reservoirs
Biosurfactants or surface-active compounds are produced by microoaganisms. These molecules reduce surface tension both aqueous solutions and hydrocarbon mixtures. In this study, isolation and identification of biosurfactant producing bacteria were assessed. The potential application of these bacteria in petroleum industry was investigated. Samples (crude oil) were collected from oil wells and 4...
